Soil production team leader

GreenTree Garden Supply is a locally owned business based in Ithaca that manufactures horticultural media (potting soil) and soil amendments. We make high quality, living soils and other soilless media to a standard of quality unsurpassed by other "dirt" manufacturers. We don't just mix soil, we lovingly craft it using our proprietary biological activation and aging process.
GreenTree is growing rapidly, and we are seeking a production team leader to lead our production and packaging teams. Production teams undertake a range of tasks related to the manufacture, packaging and shipping of our products.
This person will be an integral part of GreenTree's team, reporting to the director of soil production. They will be responsible for helping us meet the growing demand for our products. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing or similar environments and will be excited to work with us to grow our business and build our team.

Requirements:
• Experience leading and managing people
• Ability to train and instruct colleagues on job responsibilities and working safely
• Experience with production, inventory and/or maintenance logs
• Experience using equipment like forklifts and mixers
• A safety-first mindset
• Willingness to get dirty and work in a physically demanding environment
• Reliable transportation to GreenTree
• Clean driving record
Desirable skills and experience:
• Experience with a mix line, forage mixer, and bagging or similar equipment
• Experience working to set and implement quality control standards systems, ideally ISO certified
• Experience with Quickbooks Enterprise Manufacturing or another manufacturing software system
Hours and salary:
• 30-40 hours per week
• A competitive salary based on experience of not less than $15/hour - with potential for growth

Soil production assistants

• Competitive salary of Tompkins County Living wage $13.76/hour or more plus benefits
