Launching our own line of locally manufactured and formulated potting soils is the culmination of years of research and development. GreenTree's owner and soil scientist John Gaunt and his team have thoroughly tested and trialed countless types of media, working to understand the environmental tradeoffs of each.
We designed GreenTree Coco and premium soils to be good for gardens AND good for the earth, displacing peat where possible and using sustainable ingredients like coconut coir and organic nutrients.
GreenTree believes in providing expert advice and high quality gardening supplies to any level gardener - indoor or outdoor. And we're right here in Ithaca. We have the equipment, know-how, and facilities to make custom blended soil mixes and horticultural media. Whether for 1 cubic yard or a trailer load, we'll work from your recipe or help you design a mix to suit your unique needs. After blending, each batch goes through our custom aging process to ensure beneficial microbiology, so be sure to order early to allow enough time for this process.
