What's wrong with peat?
Peat bogs store a massive amount of carbon. When it is harvested it starts to break down and release that CO2 into the atmosphere, contributing to climate change. Not only does peat have a CO2 problem, but peat bogs are biodiverse habitats and a valuable natural resource that renews only very slowly over the course of thousands of years.
We aim to use little to no peat in our mixes. We believe coir is better for the environment and our gardens.
